Two weeks ago, four warriors convened on Montana’s largest (albeit frozen) body of water to catch Northern Pike and Perch for Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation’s (WQW’s) first ever winter Ice Fishing Experience (IFX). In an effort to explore ways to expand alumni opportunities beyond the traditional April-October fishing season, this six-day program required high participant engagement in the remote environment of Fort Peck Reservoir.  Warriors were involved in all aspects of the week. From setting-up wall tents and campfire cooking to drilling holes and maintaining lines. The IFX proved to be an empowering warrior experience resulting in a deep sense of accomplishment, connection and confidence.
