Two days. All inclusive. Exclusive access to Montana’s spring creeks. All while changing the life of a post-9/11 combat warrior.
(Limited to 38 attendees. Only 8 spots left!)
Semper Fly is Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation’s biennial, high-end fly-fishing experience for individuals and couples who want to explore the famous and private spring creeks of Montana.
Taking place in September 2017, Semper Fly brings together Montana’s most sought-after spring creek guides and pairs them with fishing aficionados for an unforgettable experience set against the Rocky Mountains.
In addition to a two-day, once-in-a-lifetime fishing experience, attendees will receive:
- An intimate kickoff reception with the CEO of Simms at Simms headquarters in Bozeman, MT
- A full day of fly fishing on Montana’s exclusive spring creeks, with our expert local guides
- All meals from Friday cocktails through Saturday dinner
- Two nights lodging at the brand new Element Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Bozeman
- Educational insights on how to fish Montana spring creeks with fly fishing legends Dave Whitlock, Bruce Richards and others
Your participation will directly help offset the price of bringing one injured warrior to Montana hoping to experience our therapeutic programs. Semper Fly 2017 is an event designed for you to enjoy the wonder and beauty of spring creek fly fishing, while in turn knowing you are helping a combat veteran who is having difficulty transitioning back into society.
In fact, if you are interested, we’d like you to consider being a volunteer companion to an injured veteran in 2018.
What is the investment to attend?
What is Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation?

What would a spring creek fly fishing weekend be without hosts who know these spring creeks extremely well?
We’re proud to announce that Dave and Emily Whitlock will be joining us at Semper Fly this year, and we can’t wait for you to meet them.
About Dave and Emily
Dave and Emily Whitlock are a husband and wife team who have lectured, instructed and fished together around the U.S. and abroad. A unique fly fishing pair, they are devoted to the world of fly fishing and conservation, both professionally and personally.
Dave is a native Oklahoman who resigned his position as a research chemist, more than 40 years ago, and pooled his talents in painting, illustrating, writing, photography, fly fishing, fly tying and lecturing to embark on a new career as a full-time professional in the art of fly fishing.
Dave is best known as the author of five books: Dave Whitlock’s Guide to Aquatic Trout Foods, the L.L. Bean Fly Fishing Handbook, the L.L. Bean Bass Fly Fishing Handbook, Imitating and Fishing Natural Fish Foods for Lefty’s Little Library and Trout – A Compact Guide for Fly Fishers.
He’s also co-authored or contributed to many other books, including The Flytyer’s Almanac, Second Flytyer’s Almanac, Art Flick’s Master Fly Tying Guide, McClane’s Fishing Encyclopedia, Migel’s Stream Conservation Book and Masters on the Nymph, and many others. He’s illustrated over 20 books including Steve Raymond’s Year of the Angler and Year of the Trout plus President Carter’s Outdoor Journal. Dave demonstrates his fly-fishing and teaching skills in several videos and through guest appearances on televised fly-fishing programs.
Emily is an accomplished fly-fishing instructor and she and Dave, as a team, teach fly fishing in their Oklahoma setting and around the country. She’s passionate about getting more women into fly fishing because she feels it’s such a perfect sport for women, and teaches women’s casting at events throughout the year. She’s an excellent lecturer whose programs include fly-fishing travels to New Zealand and other great destinations; getting started right in fly fishing; natural and imitation fish foods; and streamside wildflowers. As a photographer, her work has appeared in several national publications and Dave’s books and on the cover of Fly Fisherman Magazine. Emily edits all of Dave’s work and is truly his partner in all of his writing, art and video projects.
