A native of Germany, Monika currently lives in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where she and her husband recently retired following 32 years of service in the United States Army.

Brian and Monika met in Heidelberg, Germany in 1993 and have been married since 1998 and have been stationed in many places around the world.

She has received numerous awards for volunteering, including the Ambassador of the Year at Fort Bliss, Texas, and the Outreach Volunteer of the Year at Fort Drum, New York. Additionally, Monika has been awarded the Public Service Commendation Medal, and the Meritorious Public Service Medal, and was most recently awarded the Superior Public Service Medal from the Secretary of the Army.

Professionally, Monika has a background in finance, spending more than 15 years in banking and 10 years in city government, and she currently works remotely for a law firm based out of Los Angeles, California. In addition to speaking fluent German and English, she is fluent in German Sign Language.
