Sean McNamara

U.S. Air Force

Sean grew up in Malta, Montana, and is currently serving as a U.S. Air Force Colonel in the Washington D.C. area. While deployed to Afghanistan in 2010, he was severely wounded by a suicide blast that claimed the lives of a Soldier and a Marine. After “trudging” through life for several years following the blast, Sean was introduced to WQW, which has been the perfect complement to his medical care. He credits WQW with rekindling his love for the outdoors and fly-fishing which provide him with the solace and solitude essential to his ongoing recovery. As an Alumni Ambassador, Sean is excited about the opportunity to give back and desires to further WQW’s reach and impact.

Sean and his wife, Stephanie, have two sons, Seamus and Sullivan. He holds a B.S. degree in pharmacy from the University of Montana and graduate degrees from the United States Air War College and the United States Air Command and Staff College.
