Timothy D. Coop

U.S. Army

Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Timothy D. Coop enlisted in the United States Army upon graduating from high school in 1982 and completed Basic Training, Advanced Individual Training as an Infantryman, and Airborne School at Fort Benning, GA, before reporting to his first unit assignment, the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC.

Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Coop served in the Army for over 29 years in various Airborne and Light Infantry assignments throughout the United States and overseas, including 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC; Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Chaffee; 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, HI; 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY; 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, KY. His last assignment was as the Brigade Command Sergeant Major for the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 506th Infantry Regiment at Fort Campbell, KY. His overseas and combat deployments include Grenada, Sinai Egypt, Honduras, and Panama, two deployments to Iraq, and four deployments to Afghanistan.

His awards and decorations include five Bronze Star Medal’s with one being for Valor, three Purple Hearts for wounds received during Combat Operations, Meritorious Service Medal with a 3rd oak leaf cluster, Army Commendation Medal with a 4th oak leaf cluster, Army Achievement Medal with 8th oak leaf cluster, Good Conduct Medal 9th Award. He also has earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge 2nd Award, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Australian, Canadian, and Honduras Foreign Airborne Wings.

Upon retiring from the United States Army, Tim and his wife Kathy reside in Clarksville, TN. They have two sons, Michael, and Mathew, and seven grandchildren.
