Founding Member, Barton Beers
Bozeman, Montana
In the mid 1970’s Eddie spent his summers working on the Alberda Family dairy farm in Churchill, Montana. Here he developed a life-long passion for fly fishing and has continued to visit the Bozeman area on an annual basis over the next four plus decades.
Born and raised in Tucson, AZ, Eddie received his degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona in 1976. After working as a first-grade teacher for five years, Eddie joined the Coors Brewing Company. In 1985, he became a founding member of a startup company called Barton Beers where he played an important role in introducing brands such as Corona Extra, Modelo Especial, Negra Modelo, and Pacifico to the U.S. market. He became the Executive VP of Sales and remained with the company for 29 years. During this time Barton Beers became the largest importer of beers in the U.S. market growing from just under 100,000 cases Eddie’s first year to 250 million cases upon his retirement.
When Eddie and his wife are not fly fishing in Bozeman, Montana, they are actively volunteering in Healdsburg, CA. There, Eddie serves on the board for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sonoma/Marin Counties, volunteers for Corazon Healdsburg, and provides live music monthly for residents of the local Memory Care facility.
