Onno was born in Montana and raised on the banks of the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. His passion for fishing came from his grandfather, who was a veteran of WWII and served in the 10th Mountain Division. It’s because of that passion that Onno has spent the last 12 years making fishing and outdoor recreation his career. He received a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from Montana State University, while simultaneously guiding fishing and hunting trips in the greater Big Sky area and Alaska. His favorite guiding experiences through the years have always been with Warriors & Quiet Waters (WQW).

He is grateful that his path has led him to serve in a new capacity with WQW as he has witnessed time and time again how impactful WQW is for its participants and the community. Onno is honored to be a part of the team and is committed to helping WQW be the best that it can be. When not at work, you’ll find Onno fishing year-round on every stretch of river in Montana, tying flies, and skiing Bridger Bowl in the winter.
