Volunteers Speak to the Impact of
WQW’s Therapeutic Fishing Experiences
Thank you for your interest in volunteering!
During the first quarter of 2017 a significant number of applications were received. As a result, 175 new and returning volunteers have been interviewed, screened and placed for the forthcoming program year. As a result, we cannot guarantee direct program involvement this year.
If you are interested in learning about the ways volunteers directly and indirectly support therapeutic programs, please continue reading.
Every year 150+ volunteers for Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation (WQW) open their hearts and donate their time (over 6,500 hours annually!) in service to our nation’s post-9/11 combat veterans. WQW’s volunteer program aims to empower individuals to make a difference in meaningful ways and there are many ways you can help – as an individual or group, behind-the-scenes and during therapeutic programs.
When asked, “why volunteer?” most profess their desire to give back to a cause they believe in and to help somebody else. It is our hope that you will join us in the spirit of partnership and that, if accepted to the volunteer program, your volunteer work is successful and fulfilling. WQW relies on volunteers like you to fulfill its mission.
To help you get to know us and prior to submitting a volunteer application, please review the following information:
- The 2017 Volunteer Handbook is full of information to help you learn about WQW’s history, programs and policies.
- The 2017 Volunteer Job Descriptions is specific to anyone with interested in volunteering their time in Direct Program Support.
To help us make the best volunteer placements possible, we ask all volunteers begin by submitting a Volunteer Application. Click below to submit your volunteer application, knowing your involvement may not begin until 2018.
All volunteer applications are thoroughly reviewed by
