Navigating COVID-19

Navigating COVID-19

COVID-19 will continue to impact us through 2022. No matter what arises from navigating this pandemic, we will continue to put Warriors first, always.

Our Approach

It is crucial that Warriors & Quiet Waters is managing mitigation protocols to maximize the safety of our program participants in a way that does not diminish the efficacy of our mission. To do this, we will continue to implement the same COVID-19 mitigation protocols we employed in 2020 and 2021 to good effect.

Here is how we will uphold our mission while keeping everyone as safe as possible:

  • Require testing of all program participants, volunteers, and staff prior to every program. We provide the tests at no cost.
  • While the mask mandates at the airport have been lifted, we’d encourage you to consider wearing them while traveling to hopefully prevent sickness while you are at Quiet Waters Ranch. Masks are not required when you are here, but please note that we’ve experienced prior participants who tested negative upon arrival, and felt sick after their departure. Our thoughts are that they likely contracted COVID while in the airport on arrival day.
  • Have participants, volunteers, and staff stay in groups for vehicle travel during a program to minimize close exposure to different people while in a confined environment.
  • Maximize participants' outdoor time during programming.
  • Make sanitary practices and equipment accessible for all participants, volunteers, and staff such as hand washing reminders, providing hand sanitizer, cleaning and sanitizing all spaces, and complying with safe food preparation and handling practices.
  • Follow CDC guidance when implementing protocols and adjusting as the pandemic changes.

Reintegration After Service Will Remain a Journey for Service Members

The journey to reintegration can last a lifetime, which is why support from Warriors & Quiet Waters cannot stop. About 3 million members of the U.S. Armed Forces have deployed since 9/11 and more than 200,000 return to civilian life each year. More than a third of those returning veterans report consistent levels of stress within their first two years of post-service brought on by physical and mental challenges. It is more important than ever to arm veterans with the guidance and tools they need to thrive. Many service members are now exiting the military after 20-year careers, having spent their adulthood in the service during a time of war. Their new critical mission is to find meaning and purpose in a life that is completely unknown to them.

In 2022, Warriors & Quiet Waters will be hosting 31 weeks of programs, serving over 200 Warriors and their loved ones. In the best interest of the Warriors and those who serve them, we will continue to assess the environment and COVID-related facts and adjust our mitigation protocol accordingly to sustain an appropriate and proactive approach.

We help veterans thrive.

Are You Visiting Quiet Waters Ranch?

We will continue to maximize safety while delivering the Gold Standard veteran programs we are known for — at a higher rate than ever before, too.

All who join us at Quiet Waters Ranch during a program will be required to comply with these safety protocols. If you have a planned visit to our property and would like to know how this affects you, please reach out below and the appropriate staff member will be in touch.

Help Us Enable Post-Traumatic Growth in Warriors

As the stressors of living in a COVID environment impact military families, it's our goal to serve more post-9/11 combat veterans and their loved ones than ever before. Help us ensure that we are able to carry out our mission of guiding veterans and their loved ones to thrive by supporting our work.
