Post-9/11 combat veteran Larry has been a part of the Warriors & Quiet Waters Family for almost a decade.

My first exposure to Warriors & Quiet Waters (WQW) was about five years after I was medically retired from the Army.

Since being wounded in 2004 and medically retired from the Army, finding my purpose and learning to thrive with my “new normal” has been a long and arduous journey.

After my first Fishing Experience (FX) with Warriors & Quiet Waters (WQW), I knew I had found something incredible.

Warriors & Quiet Waters Foundation’s fifth annual Warrior Taste Fest raised over $770,000 during their sold-out event in support of post-9/11 combat veterans.

The original logo of Warriors & Quiet Waters is the seal of a dream to make the lives of post-9/11 veterans worth living following traumatic, and sometimes catastrophic, wounds sustained in combat.

In 2007, when Warriors & Quiet Waters (WQW) was founded, our mission was to provide therapeutic recreation and rehabilitation to wounded servicemen and women through the medium of fly fishing in beautiful, serene southwest Montana.

In 1993 I left Montana to join the Marine Corps and spent the next 27 years living all over America and overseas.

I give because if others hadn’t, I wouldn’t be here.

For the first time, WQW has created a formal Alumni Engagement Program to provide essential, long-term support to Warrior alumni and their loved ones.

I grew up in Malta, Montana, and graduated from the University of Montana School of Pharmacy in 1996.

In the coming weeks, you’re going to see and hear us talking about a new program that we’re conducting this year.
